If you are the type of person who can never unearth that dusty gem among all of the cheap junk, you need to read this blog. Not only does Eddie pull out simple plates and vintage cookware and show lots of pictures, he then tells you exactly how he'd use it (For the enamelware pot, top: "I'd do something simple—a table covered in newspaper, vintage red Bakelite like my Grandmother's and old canning jars for glasses. How fun is that?")

He shops thrift stores in New York and takes road trips to small towns, and there are plenty of furniture photos, too. The place setting above and the plates below are both from a trip to the Dollar Tree on his way to the Chesapeake Bay. He also found dishtowels that cost less than our favorites from IKEA.
