We feel like a kid in a candy store whenever we visit The Spice House in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood, browsing the jars of exotic spices and classic herbs. Browsing the site's recipe library is almost as fun.
Submitted by customers, Spice House staff, chefs and cookbook authors, the recipes are reviewed by the company before they're published. There are nearly 600 recipes in the database, and they're categorized by course, ingredient and cuisine.
We've been browsing the Thanksgiving section, and found a lot of dishes we'd love to try. Here are a few that stood out:

Yay the spice house is awesome.
I've made this recipe before, though I think I used their generic "Moroccan spice" mixture in lieu of the exact spices recommenced in the recipe:

I am stunned! Your post just popped up in my Google Reader...and last night I wrote about the fabulous Spice House on my food blog!
Last week I learned about various types of cinnamon from the staff at the Old Town location. See what I learned, and the delicious pumpkin-stuffed french toast I made, here: http://kumquatconnection.typepad.com/kumquat_connection/2008/11/cinnamonchallahpumpkin.html
Good work spotlighting such a great merchant!

Don't overlook that the Spice House has two stores (and several spice blends) in Milwaukee too! Including in our fabulous Public Market.
